The Chewie Fruities candy, introduced in May, was termed a sophisticated Halloween candy and an alternative to a prominent conventional candy by New York magazine, said Torie Burke, company co-founder. Chewie Fruities also recently was named a finalist in the Martha Stewart American Made Awards. A 10-ounce Halloween package of the hard candy is available, and Real Simple included it in its “6 Spooktacular Halloween Candies” feature, am New York magazine named it a healthy candy to try this Halloween, and Grub Street called it a “Next Level Candy for the Discerning Trick-or-Treater,” Burke said.
