NEW MILFORD, Conn., Nov. 19, 2015 – Torie & Howard’s newly introduced organic Chewie Fruities candy is seeing quick penetration across retail segments and geographically much the same as the flagship organic hard candy that launched the company less than four years ago.

Chewie Fruities, which was introduced in May, is available at select Macy’s stores and Saks Off Fifth, along with the 2-ounce tins of the company’s organic hard candy, said Torie Burke, company co-founder. Torie & Howard is handling those sales directly. In the chewy candy’s growing international placements, it is available at Cold Storage Singapore through American Trading International of Los Angeles and in ABC Stores in Guam and Hawaii through Hawaii Intercontinental of Honolulu, Burke said. The company also has added Royal Foods of Long Island City, N.Y., as a distributor.

Other Chewie Fruities placements include Bartell Drugs in Washington through Halfon Candy Company of Seattle and regional chains such as Akins/Chamberlain’s, Nugget Markets, Publix Greenwise, Barons Market, Hy-Vee, and Yoke’s Fresh Markets through UNFI of Providence, R.I., and Mother’s Market, Lowes Foods, Fiesta Markets and Coborn’s through KeHE of Romeoville, Ill., Burke said.

Chewie Fruities are made in the USA, available in three of the same sophisticated flavor duos of Torie & Howard’s organic, Non-GMO hard candy, and are both sweet and tart. A serving of the organic and kosher certified candy provides the daily requirement of Vitamin C. An assortment of flavors also is available, and all candies are individually wrapped in gusseted 4-ounce peg packs as well as a display shipper. The candies have a suggested retail price of $3.99 and are available six to a case and 48 to a master case.

The 2-ounce recyclable steel tins of the organic hard candy have a suggested retail price of $3.99-$4.99 and the tins are available eight per case with 12 cases to a master case. All Torie & Howard candy is USDA Organic, Non GMO and kosher certified and also is free from major allergens, including soy, wheat, gluten, nuts, and dairy.
