Torie & Howard organic candy continues to penetrate the retail market nationally with placements in Harris Teeter, Kroger and the Coast Guard, the company announced today.
Torie & Howard 4-ounce Chewie Fruities® organic fruit chews in original and sour flavors now are available at 193 Harris Teeter stores in the South Atlantic through UNFI of Providence, R.I. The 4-ounce Chewie Fruities peg sacks and 2-ounce hard candy tins have been set in 430 new Kroger stores and the 4-ounce Chewie Fruities display shipper program has been continued for a total placement of 550 stores, said Torie Burke, company co-founder and CEO. The Kroger sale is direct.
The Coast Guard Exchange now is carrying 4-ounce Chewie Fruities original assorted flavors through McLane Company of Temple, Texas. Placements at regional grocery chains include 4-ounce Chewie Fruities shippers in 64 Quality Food Centers in Washington and 4-ounce Chewie Fruities original and sour flavors in select Weis Markets in Mid-Atlantic States, both through DPI Specialty Foods of Ontario, Canada. Harps Food Stores in the Midwest are carrying 4-ounce Chewie Fruities shippers through UNFI, Burke said.
All Torie & Howard candy is USDA Organic, kosher certified, vegan, and contains no artificial dyes, flavors, preservatives or genetically engineered ingredients. It also is free from major allergens, including soy, wheat, gluten, nuts and dairy.
Chewie Fruities 4-ounce peg sacks have a suggested retail price of $3.99 and ship six to a case and 48 to a master case. The fruit chews also are available in grab-and-go stick packs with a suggested retail price of $1.99 and ship 18 to a display case and 12 cases in a master case. The 2-ounce tins of organic hard candy have a suggested retail price of $3.99 to $4.99 and are available eight per case with 12 cases to a master case.
